The Punjab Higher Education Department Colleges, under the Punjab Government, has announced vacancies for College Teaching Interns (CTIs). These positions are open to both males and females residing in Punjab. The interns will be tasked with teaching intermediate (11th & 12th) and higher classes in Punjab Education Department colleges. The initiative aims to address the shortage of teaching staff in Punjab’s colleges. This year Govt of Punjab has decided to complete the CTI recruitment process online at hed.punjab.gov.pk. To meet the immediate needs of colleges during the fiscal year 2024, the competent authority has decided to hire 3000 College Teaching Interns for a period of 4 months. The government of Pakistan faces challenges in hiring permanent lecturers, hence the decision to recruit interns on a session basis to fill the gap. These interns will receive a fixed salary without fringe benefits.

College Teaching Interns will teach 1st and 2nd-year students for a duration of 5 months, during which they are responsible for completing the syllabus and conducting internal exams. Those in science subjects will also assist in science labs, guiding FSc students through Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics practicals. Additionally, they may undertake other academic tasks assigned by the college Principal.

The monthly stipend for College Teaching Interns is 45,000 rupees. The internship lasts for 5 months with no possibility of extension. Interns are not guaranteed permanent positions but receive an internship certificate upon completion, enhancing their prospects for securing permanent teaching jobs in public or private educational institutions. Eligibility Criteria CTI Jobs in Punjab

The eligibility criteria for College Teaching Interns are straightforward. There is no age limit, and candidates must hold a minimum educational qualification of MA, MSc, or BS with at least a second division. Five percent of CTI jobs are reserved for minorities, and 3 percent for special candidates. The Higher Education Department reserves the right to modify the terms of service, including eligibility criteria and salary, for CTI jobs in Punjab.
